World Philosophy Day 2025
In Tribute to the 220th Anniversary of Solomon Dodashvili


The Institute of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities, at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, in collaboration with the UNESCO program, is pleased to announce its annual international interdisciplinary conference dedicated to World Philosophy Day, which will take place on November 13 – 14, 2025.

This year’s conference will pay special tribute to the 220th anniversary of Solomon Dodashvili (1805–1836) — a prominent figure in Georgian intellectual history: philosopher, educator, logician, journalist, prose writer, literary historian, teacher, and public and political leader.

 Working Languages: Georgian and English.


Conference Objectives:


 To promote scientific and educational engagement in contemporary philosophical discourse, as well as in culturology, history, philology, and related disciplines.
 To bring together professors and early-career researchers from universities and research institutions in Georgia and abroad, fostering academic dialogue and collaboration.
 To facilitate coordination among Georgian scholars and strengthen connections with international colleagues.

Suggested Topics:


We especially welcome contributions in the following areas:


 Epistemology and Ontology, Logic and Philosophy of Science, History of Philosophy and Medieval Studies, Cultural Studies and Philosophy of Culture, Moral and Applied Ethics, Philosophy of Religion and Political Philosophy,etc
 Comparative analyses of Solomon Dodashvily’s philosophical, moral, historical, and political ideas.

Submission Guidelines:


Participants are invited to submit extended abstracts to the following email addresses by October 1, 2025, and full texts by November 1, 2025:

Accepted contributions will be published in the bilingual academic journal "Philosophical-Theological Reviewer"; Issue No. 16 (2026).
